Our Story
Very Good Beverage Company (VGBC) was formed by the native Charlottean founders of Pepperbox Doughnuts and Coffee. Co-owner Nate DeVillers, with over 10 years in the beverage industry as a mixologist and beverage curator, utilizes a chef-driven approach to create, curate, and distribute innovative non-alcoholic beverages to select retailers and restaurants.
VGBC contract brews and consults for Pepperbox Doughnuts and Coffee, Defined Coffee, Nightflyer Coffee, and Pourly Made. Javesca Coffee, local roasters for Pepperbox products, are exemplars of promoting sustainability in the industry, giving back to local families at their green coffee origin points through their sister organization, Javesca Feeds.
VGBC also has two of its own house brands CLTZER, Charlotte’s first chef-driven non-alcoholic and seltzer brand, and Soar, a brand focusing on wellness-centered and international beverages!
VGBC represents and distributes other national brands, like Cheerwine, Sun Drop, Rishi, Minor Figures, Boxed Water, and more!
VGBC plans to be an accelerator for other local forward-thinking beverage concepts, so be on the lookout for botanical waters, sodas, mocktails, and more!
Production
We craft custom beverages with a chef-driven approach, using local ingredients whenever possible. We believe that quality of ingredients and skill can be used to elevate what you put into your body.
Distribution
We keg and bottle products for all those in need of our services. We sell and deliver to restaurants, coffee shops, bodegas, and grocery stores in the Greater Charlotte Area. We also sell directly to consumers!
Accelerator
We have the infrastructure in place to help those with unique ideas make their beverage dreams a reality. We’ve been through this all before and are eager to guide others in their journey and support local entrepreneurs.
